Gurdwara Bangla Sahib

Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is a famous Sikh Gurdwara in Delhi. Where people of all religions go with their reverence.

History (Bangla Sahib)

Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib is located in the city of Delhi. This historical Gurdwara is related to the holy visit of Shri Guru Har Krishna Ji to Delhi. On the request of Mughal King Aurangzeb and on the persuasion of Mirza Raja Jai Singh of ‘Amer’, “Shri Guru Har Krishna Ji” agreed to come to Delhi. Raja Jai Singh invited Guru Sahib to the present site which originally belonged to Raja Jai Singh. The king’s wife thought of testing Guru Sahib’s spiritual powers and disguised as a maidservant sat among the servants. At the age of 8, Guru Sahib recognized the queen and sat on her lap. Thus convincing him about the spiritual powers of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his true disciples. In those days smallpox was taking the form of an epidemic in the city of Delhi. The citizens of Delhi had to face grief and death as a result of the disaster there. Out of love and compassion for suffering humanity, Sri Guru Har Krishna Ji immersed His holy feet in the water and poured the Charan Amrit into a small lake. All the diseases that took water from the “pond”  were cured. In this way, the people of Delhi were saved from that epidemic. Devotees from far and wide come with reverence and devotion and get rid of sufferings by taking a dip in the holy water.
